Educational Environment Data for Preschoolers

Educational Environment (EE) data is collected from school districts in Illinois through the IEP and entered into a statewide data system (FACTS).  Educational Environment data is meant to define where a child with an IEP receives their special education supports and services.

In early childhood we have several tools to help districts report this data accurately.  By reviewing what type of early childhood education program a child attends and where their services are provided the IEP team can use the Decision Tree for Coding Educational Environment for 3–5 year olds to determine the correct EE code.

Early CHOICES also provides technical assistance to school districts to assess their EE data for preschool and supports districts to assure accuracy.
