This Training will build on the Pyramid Model strategies to expand on the use to meet the diverse needs of children with developmental disabilities that are receiving inclusive preschool/pre-k services. Peer Mediated Interventions are a collection of evidence-based strategies used within a classroom to be applied to a variety of situations. Interventions provide typically developing peers with such activities as social skills training, prompts and praise in social play situations which are designed to model, reinforce, and promote appropriate social interactions and social skills for children of all abilities (McConnell, 2002). The presenter will provide content using multimedia to provide examples and activities for participants to implement in their own settings.
