Based on Dr.MacLeod’s ASCD book, From Behaving to Belonging: The Inclusive Art of Supporting Students That Challenge Us, this webinar provides educators and parents with practical strategies for shifting from a “behavior management” mindset (one that punishes students for “bad” behavior or rewards students for “good” or “compliant” behavior) to an approach that supports all students with kindness, creativity, acceptance, and love.

Participants will learn what’s going on in the brain when students display challenging behavior and will leave with tons of strategies for supporting students before, during and after big emotions.

Presenter’s Bio: An innovative educator, author, researcher and inclusion expert, Dr. Kate MacLeod is an assistant professor of special education at the University of Maine Farmington and co-founder of Inclusive Schooling. She began her career as a high school special educator in New York City before joining higher education, and has spent 15 years teaching, researching and writing about inclusive practices so she can help educators feel prepared and inspired to include all learners.
