Community of Practice

A community of practice is meant to strengthen teamwork, reduce feelings of professional isolation, improve professional practice and provide personal growth for members.

2022-23 Community of Practice: Inclusion for PD Providers

This cross-systems group of professional development providers meets regularly 6 times throughout the year to collaborate and delve into practice related to inclusion.  Topics focus on inclusive practices that support high quality inclusion. All meetings are virtual so we can reach across the state.

2021 Community of Practice: Inclusion for PD Providers

We gathered PD and TA providers from across early care and education in Illinois for 6 session virtually for 90 minutes in 2021 to share knowledge and create strategies to support inclusion of all young children. Online Meeting How do we know children are being meaningfully included? What tools are available to measure quality? We will look at national resources like the Inclusive Classroom Profile, and Illinois resources like the Illinois Inclusion Guidelines Checklist.
